When: 23 September 2019 – 27 September 2019
Where: Agrupamento de Escolas Professor Paula Nogueira, Olhão, Portugal
What: This learning and teaching activity tries to raise awareness about bullying and how it affects individuals on a daily basis. How can we react to bullying? This LTT activity explores the role of the bystander in bullying and how you can help prevent bullying. An important new strategy for bullying prevention focuses on the powerful role of the bystander. Depending on how bystanders respond, they can either contribute to the problem or the solution. Naturally, though, fear for one’s safety can keep a bystander from taking action. Peer pressure can be
a positive thing, and bystanders can exert peer pressure on others to stand up safely for those who are being bullied. Participating in this LTT we want to teach the participants to evaluate when it is safe to intervene in a bullying situation. They will also learn when to report bullying to adults to get help from them.
